Are you married or getting married? Do you have August 2 free and can you get to Boston? Do you LOVE photographs of the two of you? Then you may want to consider this offer-
I belong to a group of photographers (called Shootstyle) that get together every few months to photograph people in different locations or in interesting scenarios. Why? To stay fresh! To feel inspired! And we’re getting together for another shoot in Boston on August 2nd and we are looking for couples! Are you a photographer looking to be inspired? What better way than through several photographers photographing YOU and your significant other!
What you get- an afternoon of many photographers (but no more than three at a time) taking your photograph and the high resolution digital negatives so that you can print them yourself! What you need: an open mind, a great attitude, a significant other, and a wedding dress. Men can wear a suit or black or khaki pants with a button down. And the wedding dress doesn’t have to be YOUR wedding dress if you are uncomfortable with using your own (although it is so easy to clean wedding dresses!), as long as it fits you! Several consignment shops (and even Marden’s in Maine!) have wedding dresses that are CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP (under $50). This is a RAIN OR SHINE shoot, so please don’t commit unless you are certain that you can make the date.

One of the things I love about being a destination wedding photographer is the opportunity that it gives me to work with couples from all over the globe. I photographed Olivia and Emilio’s wedding in Mexico in November- he is from Mexico, she is from Ireland, and they now live in Ireland so they held their wedding in Mexico! It was a gorgeous wedding with a great group, and I was pleased to find out that it was just published in a UK magazine called Weddings Now. I don’t have a copy of the magazine yet, but Olivia sent me some scanned pages so that I could have a look at the finished product (excuse the color shift from the scan). Here they are:

Michelle and Bobby are getting married in mid-August, so I photographed their engagement session today! It was one of the only sunny days that we’ve had all summer- it was a great day to be lakeside in Manchester! Here are a few of my faves:

I just wanted to wish everyone a Happy Fourth of July (belatedly)! I hope that everyone had a wonderful and safe day with family and friends. Here is one of my favorite shots from Gianna and Andrew’s wedding yesterday (on the Fourth of July)- I think it is appropriate for the occasion.

Gianna and Andrew were married yesterday, on the Fourth of July! The best thing about being a Maine wedding photographer is that New England weather is SO unpredictable that even if the forecast tells you that there is a 70% chance of rain on the coast, it’s still very likely that you could have bright blue skies. This was the third weekend in a row where that was the case, and I was so pleased to see the sun because I knew that not only did Gianna and Andrew have a beautiful outdoor wedding planned at the Lookout Inn at Flye Point in Brooklin, Maine, but they had also planned fireworks in the evening! Here are a few of my faves from the day:
Gianna’s brother walked her down the aisle:

I loved the look on Andrew’s face when he saw Gianna in her dress for the first time:

Their dog Jasper was in attendance, wearing a brand new wedding collar:

The ceremony:

Perhaps my favorite shot of the two of them:

The beautiful flowers:

I adore rocky coastlines!

The first dance:

The cool cake:

I loved the way Gianna and Andrew held on to each other while they danced all night:

It was a fun crowd, and a great band:

And the fireworks- I LOVE fireworks in general, but these were really cool because of all of the moisture in the air (it rained on and off once it got dark)- it created a surreal, misty effect:

Julie and Kurt were married at St. Ann’s in Kennebunkport and held their reception at Pier 77 in Cape Porpoise. The weather report wasn’t great (it’s been raining in New England for weeks!), but the sun came out right before their ceremony which was GREAT considering they were having an outdoor ceremony at St. Ann’s. This was a really fun group with two of the most well-behaved ring-bearers I have ever worked with! Here are a few of my faves:
Julie’s mom walked her down the “aisle”:

Megan and Brett were married at the beautiful Star of the Sea Catholic Church in York, Maine. Their reception was held at Megan’s parents’ home, right on the coast. The details were amazing, from the Sperry tent with the custom-built deck to the gorgeous flowers and incredible table design, courtesy of Moxie Events. This was a fabulous wedding, made even more so by two of the nicest families that I have ever worked with. The band, New York City Swing, was fantastic and kept everyone on the dance floor all night. Here are a few of my faves from the day, or you can view their slideshow here or their gallery here:

And some of those amazing details- here is the reception space, courtesy of Sperry Tents and Moxie Events:

Check out the beer that Megan and Brett brewed for the wedding! The image on the front is a photograph that I took of them at their engagement session last month:

The wedding bands:

The two dads share a moment as they wait for the bridal party, who arrived to the reception by boat:

And the wedding party arrives:

Brett and his mom:

Alissa and Tom were married at the beautiful Playa Fiesta Hotel in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Even though we were on the cusp of the rainy season, it was a beautiful, sunny day. Even though it was a small group, they were incredibly fun and hit the dance floor early and stayed until the very end! Here are a few of my faves from the day, or you can view their slideshow here or their gallery here:

A pre-wedding poker game:

Julie and Adam were married at the Barn at Outlook Farm in South Berwick, Maine. It was a beautiful, sunny day- perfect June weather for Maine! What I loved most about working with Julie and Adam was the fact that they never stopped smiling and laughing all day- these two have a wonderful ability to make each other laugh. Here are a few of my faves, or you can view the slideshow here or the gallery here:

The beautiful flower arrangements were designed by Kate Parker at Kate Parker Weddings:

Leila and Ryan were married on Saturday, and they came to Bar Harbor for their honeymoon! We did a True Romance shoot around Acadia and Bar Harbor- it was a fun day! Here are a few of my faves:
