You may have noticed that I now have a new website!  I am happy to say that the new website is up and running at www.michelleturner.com .   Why a new website?  I was having some difficulty updating the old one, and I needed to make some changes.  First of all, we have a brand new contact form that is generated by a great company called ShootQ.

I also have a NEW LOGO!  I am pleased to unveil the new logo, which is the creation of Petra Hall, a fabulous European designer!  Here are a few examples of the logo:

So when am I going to update the logo on the header of the blog?  Well, I’m going to wait a little while- I am expecting to get a brand new blog in the not-so-distant future, so stay tuned for updates!

Hey all! I just wanted to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season! We will be closed on Christmas and New Year’s Eve to be with our families, but we will be checking email, so if you need to get in touch with us feel free to email us at info@michelleturnerphotography.com and someone will get back to you promptly.

It is snowing almost every other day up here in Maine, so we have a good foot and a half of snow outside. We have been doing some ice skating and hope to be skiing in the near future- it seems like we are definitely going to have a snowy winter this year unlike the last two years. Finally, it’s time for winter sports again! We might even be able to use the snow shoes more than one time this year. It’s absolutely gorgeous, but freezing! I hope, no matter where you are that you are enjoying the season!

Also, I wanted to let everyone know that I will be speaking at the Digital Wedding Forum (DWF) convention down in Tampa in early January, so I will be out of the office from the evening of January 1st through the 7th. The Digital Wedding Forum (DWF) convention is running at the same time as Imaging USA (the PPA convention), so for those of you who are photographers reading this, shoot me an email if you are going to be in Tampa for either convention! When I’m not speaking at the convention, I’ll probably be at PPA’s trade show- it’s like going to a mall that only stocks photography equiptment! Definitely a dream come true for a photographer that is a gearhead like me!

Anyway, to read more about the DWF convention, visit the Digital Wedding Forum’s website. I have been a member of the Digital Wedding Forum for over three years now, and it is a fantastic resource for photographers. If you are a professional photographer, be sure to check it out. If you are an aspiring wedding photographer, the DWF has a special section for you called DWF Start. I have been invited to be one of the DWF Start Mentors to help people in their first few years of business. Click here to check out the Digital Wedding Forum Pro and Start.

After I return from the Digital Wedding Forum’s convention, I will then be traveling to Mexico on the 9th for a destination wedding at Las Caletas, which is a peninsula owned by Vallarta Adventures- you can see it by clicking here. This will be the second wedding that I have photographed there in the past month- Ashley and Bill Timmel (scroll down to see their wedding photographs) were married there in late November. Anyway, if you need to get in touch with me while I am out of the country, I will be checking email throughout, so feel free to write to me at info@michelleturnerphotography.com and I will get back to you as soon as I can!

I also wanted to share a recent family photograph. I set up the tripod for this family shot out on our family farm in Winthrop, Maine, during the fall. For once, both of my children (and Eric!) are sitting still! We had to shoo the horses out of the shot since we are sitting in the middle of the hay field…

Kathryn and Mark were married at the Playa Fiesta outside of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. We did a session the day before, too, to give us an opportunity to go around town. Here are a few of my faves:
