Michelle and Bobby were married at Michelle’s parents’ house on the shores of Maranacook Lake. I really enjoy photographing weddings at private residences because the couple has the opportunity to really design their event. Michelle and Bobby had the help of Amber Small at Sweetest Things Weddings- Amber is a fabulous coordinator and really helped Michelle and Bobby to have an absolutely gorgeous wedding (she also designed the fabulous flowers)!
This was my second time working with Michelle’s family- I photographed her brother’s wedding a few years ago, and it was great to connect with Michelle’s family again for another gorgeous Maine wedding, this time at their home! The forecast finally called for sun (and lots of it!)- after dodging the rain all summer, Michelle and Bobby had an unbelievable sunny day with gorgeous blue skies. The food was amazing, but my favorite part of the wedding was the dance floor- Michelle and Bobby put their dance floor on top of their boathouse, right on the shores of the lake! I also really enjoyed the fireworks (I’m definitely a sucker for fireworks). Of course, it was also great to connect with all of the familiar faces- four couples that I have photographed were in attendance at the wedding, and there were even a few former senior portrait clients in the mix! Here are a few of my faves from the day:

I absolutely love photographing senior portraits. We shoot during the best light and pick some fun locations and I love to hear about college applications and all of that fun stuff. I photographed Lauren yesterday- I did her brother’s senior pics a few years ago, and I can’t believe that Lauren is going to be a senior this year! Not only is she an incredibly talented field hockey player and skier, but she is also the student body president! This was a fun senior session other than the bugs- Lauren and I were eaten alive, but she was still all smiles all the way to the end of the session! Here are a few of my faves:

Emma and Jason held their beautiful destination wedding at the Retreat at French’s Point in Stockton Springs, Maine. One of the funny things about being a Maine Wedding Photographer is that sometimes I shoot back to back wedding at the same venue and the weather is so different that it is almost as if I am photographing in two different seasons. Emma and Jason had a beautiful, sunny day- the sky was a gorgeous blue with white fluffy clouds. Two of my favorite photographs from the day are photographs of Emma and Jason with a backdrop of just the beautiful sky.
What I loved about Emma and Jason was that they told everyone that they knew they were going to get married from the moment they first met (they were introduced by one of Jason’s groomsmen who is in law school with Emma). They are such a cute couple, and they complement each other so well! They had interesting wedding details- Emma LOVES cheese, so the placecards for the tables were stuck in large blocks of cheese- a different one for each table!
