I photographed Patrick last week on one of the most beautiful fall days that we have had so far. Patrick is a senior this year at Winthrop high school and is just finishing his senior year soccer season. I was glad that we were able to get the session in between the rainy and cold days! And of course, it was nice to see the yellows, reds, and oranges starting to appear on the trees around us. Here are a few of my faves from the day:

I am happy to announce that I will be speaking for the third year in a row at Mystic! For those of you who haven’t been to this awesome convention, this year is Mystic 5, and it is a fabulous three days of speakers, networking, and a few fabulous vendors! I am pleased to report that I will be joining some of the best wedding photographers in the business, such as Jerry Ghionis, John Michael Cooper (aka altF), David Williams, DQ Studios- just look at all of the speakers below! Stacey Doyle and I will be speaking about different ways tell a story through photographs- here is our seminar description:
There are multiple ways to interpret every scene- as wedding photographers who are hired to tell a story, it is imperative that we define our styles and develop ways to interact with our clients in order to deliver consistent, creative results at every wedding or session. Join Michelle Turner and Stacey Doyle as they discuss the different methods they use to interpret every story and share their strategies for working with clients while putting their own creative spin on each session. See how these two very different photographers have defined their styles through their creative choices, such as actively posing or loosely directing, using natural light or creating their own lighting, and interpreting similar scenes in different ways.
If you are interested in attending Mystic this year, be sure to visit this website for more information, or feel free to shoot me an email!

Erin and Jason are my type of clients! I walked in and met Erin on Saturday afternoon, and the first thing that I learned about her was that she was the female keg-stand champion the night before! I have to say that she looked remarkably well for a bride that had earned that distinction the night before her wedding, and I knew that anyone that could pull that off would have a fun wedding to boot. Of course, Erin had already warned me that Jason’s frat brothers from MIT were a crazy bunch, so I was excited to shoot this wedding!
Erin and Jason live in California now (although Jason is from New Hampshire), and the made the journey to Maine for their destination wedding in Northeast Harbor at the Asticou. The weather called for heavy rain, but I’m pleased to say that the sun came out during the ceremony and they had a beautiful blue sky! The gorgeous flowers were designed by Jeannie Russell at Verona Island Flowers- I loved the green and orange! Orange is Erin’s favorite color, and it looked fabulous with the green accents.
I loved the story of how Erin and Jason met- they met at a New Years Eve party. Even though there was an open bar, Jason walked right up to Erin and offered to buy her a drink. And the two have been dating for the last six (or was it seven?) years. They live in the San Francisco bay area- one of my absolute favorite places in the country! When we took their bride and groom photos, we headed over to the Asticou gardens, and then during dinner we walked down to the waterfront for a few more photos. Here are a few of my faves from the day:
