I love Alex and Dana’s story– they met in high school, became best friends first, and then started dating during their first year in college. During the ceremony and the speeches we heard so many wonderful stories about how they fell in love. I asked Dana and Alex how they got engaged, and Dana told me that it happened during a snowy walk near our apartment in Chicago on Valentine’s Day 2016. He proposed on a pier of a snow-covered pond.
I asked them why they chose to have a destination wedding and Dana said: We wanted to spend as much time as possible with our closest friends and family. Choosing a destination wedding allowed us to keep it small and get more time with everyone.
Here are a few of my favorites from their day:
When I asked them what their favorite part of the day was, Dana said there were a few moments that stood out. 1) Being pronounced husband and wife and kissing each other 2) Our first dance. 3) The after party, which consisted of everyone singing and dancing their hearts out in one of the suites.
Congratulations, Dana and Alex! What a beautiful day!
