Xinxin and Michael were married at the Algonquin Club in Boston a few weeks ago– it was a gorgeous, sunny December day! I photographed Michael’s brother’s wedding at the beginning of the year, and it was so nice to see so many familiar faces at this wedding!
I asked Xinxin and Michael how they met, and she told me that they went on their first date at a coffee shop. It’s their proposal that is truly spectacular– they got engaged during a visit to Hong Kong. Xinxin said: We went to a beautiful fishing village called Tai O in Hongkong in July. We walked to a small coffee shop at the end nearby the water. The owner of the coffee is super nice to us. We ran out of cash and we didn’t plan to order any drinks but the owner said all the foods is on the house then she cooked the delicious chicken wings and made us tea even though we didn’t order them.
Here are a few of my favorite images from the day:
The Algonquin Club was just perfect for a winter wedding!
I asked Xinxin and Michael to tell me about their favorite parts of the day, and Xinxin said that her favorite part of the day was the beginning of the ceremony. I have to admit that it was my favorite part as well– I have photographed many weddings, and I’ve never seen a couple devote so much of their ceremony to telling their friends and family (and each other) what makes them so special. It was such a wonderful ceremony!
Congratulations, Xinxin and Michael! It was a beautiful day!
