Charlotte: Washington DC Baby Portraits

I was so pleased to have the opportunity to photograph Charlotte last week in DC.  I photographed the wedding of her parents, Jen and Brad, one year ago at the Retreat at French’s Point in Maine.  Their wedding remains one of my favorite weddings ever because they chose to hold their wedding outside in the pouring rain!  It was beautiful and memorable and, above all, fun!  I was thrilled when Jen emailed me to tell me that they were having a baby, and I was excited to have the opportunity to photograph Charlotte at their home on the outskirts of DC.

Charlotte is beautiful and one of the most cooperative babies that I have ever photographed.  Isn’t it popular belief that if your child is calm and quiet that you are in for a spot of trouble when they hit their teenage years?  Jen and Brad, if that is the case, you guys had better start preparing now! :)  Here are a few of my faves from the session:

Cara and Chris: A San Francisco Wedding

It is no secret that I LOVE San Francisco.  So when I received an email from Cara about a year ago asking me to fly out to San Francisco to photograph her wedding, I was THRILLED!!!  San Francisco is, without a doubt, one of the most beautiful cities in the world.  Add to that the fact that the weather was absolutely gorgeous AND the fact that Cara and Chris are one of the most fabulous couples I have ever worked with, and you have the makings of an incredible day!  To add to the fun, Cara and Chris saw each other before the wedding so that we could take a few photographs in San Francisco before heading over to the ceremony in Marin and the reception in Sausalito.

I loved all of the personal touches at the wedding- Cara and Chris are wine lovers, so the entire reception had a wine theme.  They (along with Cara’s future sister-in-law) created so many of the little details themselves- it gave the wedding and the reception such a personal touch!  They thought of everything- Cara and Chris even had bride and groom bears from Build-a-Bear workshop waiting for the flower girls and the ring bearer at their seats at the ceremony.

Here are a few of my favorite photographs from the day:

Sarah and Brandon: A Retreat at French’s Point Wedding

Sarah and Brandon were married on the Fourth of July, Sarah’s favorite holiday (and one of mine, as well)!  I loved hanging out with this awesome couple, who met during their Semester at Sea.  They are so fun and laid-back, and we had a great time taking pics down by the beach and all over the beautiful property.  And of course, their friends and families were so wonderful to work with as well!

I really loved all of the great details- Sarah and Brandon were married at the Retreat at French’s Point (one of my favorite venues), their flowers and design was done by Judy at Flora Fauna (one of my favorite designers), and their cake was created by Sticky Fingers (their cakes are soooo fabulous)!  And of course, to top it all off (since it WAS the Fourth of July, after all!!) Sarah and Brandon had both fireworks AND sparklers!  It was such a wonderful evening, and I had such a great time with this group!  Here are a few of my favorite photographs from the day:

The blue and yellow theme looks amazing- that is exactly what I think of when I think of a coastal wedding!

Great wedding Michelle! I love the colours(sorry canadian/uk spelling, haha) they chose and great images! I really love the fireworks shot! Wonderful!

[...] Sarah and Brandon … We met on Semester at Sea, a student cruise ship owned by the University of Virginia that is converted into a floating campus. I was in school in Florida and he was in school in Colorado. We traveled all over Europe for a summer semester 5 years ago. Brandon proposed to me at the finish line of the Ford Ironman Triathlon in Lake Placid, New York in July of last year. It was quite a surprise and the crowd LOVED it! [...]

Abby and Colby: Maine Engagement Photography

Abby and Colby met when they were both working on the set of the show Gossip Girl!  My niece was definitely impressed when she heard that tidbit!  We had such beautiful light for their session on the hill and in the fields- they weren’t afraid to tromp around in the tall grass with me, either.  They are such natural cuddlers- it made my job quite easy, and I’m looking forward to photographing their wedding in August at Point Lookout.  Here are a few of my favorites from the day:
