I photographed Marganne and Mike’s engagement at Garza Blanca in Mismaloya, Mexico– we had so much fun and we had the beach to ourselves!!
I asked them to tell me a bit about their engagement and Marganne said: I had started my first job out of college and my co-worker/roommate had told me about a really cute guy at work who she thought I might like. I laughed it off because I never thought I would date someone from work. A few months later, Carson (first name Mike, last name Carson) and I met in person at our work holiday party and then a few more months later reconnected when out with some co-workers. My friend was right, he was really cute! After a few dates we knew we had feelings for each other, and 4 years later he popped the question!
Mike said: I had told Marganne that we were going to a “friendsgiving dinner” at Terranea Resort so we should look nice. She suggested that we arrive early to catch the winter sunset (her favorite), which was perfect because it fell right into my plan. We grabbed some champagne at the hotel bar and walked down to the cliffs to watch the sunset over the ocean. That was when i told her that the gift I had with me wasn’t for someone at dinner, but was actually for her. She opened it to find a photo book of our relationship and on the last page it said “Will You Marry Me”? I dropped to one knee and asked her to marry me. After she said yes, I pointed to a hidden photographer who had captured everything. We took some photos and walked down to a restaurant for her to find a large group of family and friends to celebrate. The party didn’t stop there, I had booked a bungalow for the weekend so that even more friends, family and co-workers arrived to celebrate our engagement with us.
Here are a few of my favorites from their session on the beach at Garza Blanca:
Congratulations to both of you!! I can’t wait to photograph your wedding next year in Vallarta!
