This may go down in history as my favorite engagement session ever!  I am photographing Cate and Saro’s destination wedding in Sayulita, Mexico, later this year, and they wanted a completely different backdrop for their engagement photographs.  So they brought me down to NYC, which is one of my favorite places.  I knew from emails traded with Cate that she and Saro were going to be fun.  But nothing prepared me for the vintage-themed, prop-wielding, colorful craziness of the engagement session.  Cate and Saro are a blast!  Not only did we traipse through funky urban neighborhoods, but we also went to the water to get some great views of Manhattan from Brooklyn, and Cate and Saro ended the session with a bubble gun battle followed by a water balloon fight!  It was an incredible evening and I’m really looking forward to photographing their wedding later this year!  Here are a few of my faves from the day:

There is a great new blog and website out of Spain called Boda Book (for those of you that don’t know, “boda” means wedding in Spanish).  This is a fabulous resource with a lot of great ideas and photographs.  I’m happy to announce that some of my photographs from recent destination weddings have been featured on their blog- go check it out!  It’s a great post about designing beach weddings.
