Susan and Andy met and had their first date in Dallas, but they decided to travel down to Puerto Vallarta for their wedding because they wanted to celebrate for several days in a beautiful, tropical environment with their family and friends.  They chose the beautiful Playa Fiesta Hotel for their wedding venue.  Susan told me that one of her favorite parts of the night (other than the wedding itself) was the fireworks display- that was one of my favorite parts too!  Those of you that read my blog with regularity know that I love fireworks!!!  Susan and Andy had a great wedding (I loved the green and pink combo!), and they even jumped in the pool at the end of the night!  Here are a few of my favorites from the day:

I have to admit it- I’m a sucker for a good love story, and sometimes the simplest stories can also be the sweetest.  Kate and Nick are high school sweethearts.  In my nine years as a wedding photographer, I’ve only photographed a handful of high school sweethearts, but each and every time I am struck by the love– not just between the couple (after all, ALL of my couples are in love!), but between the families as well.  The marriage of high school sweethearts is the official blending of two different families that have thought of themselves as family already for years.  There are no awkward moments that always happen when two groups that know nothing about one another get together; rather, there is simply an outpouring of love and commitment and a reiteration that while things are finally “official”, they couple has been such a huge part of each other’s lives through the entirety of their adult lives.
