Melissa and Gary were married at the beautiful Playa Fiesta Hotel in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in January. Melissa told me that most people don’t know that Gary had proposed exactly one year before the wedding date, and that’s why they chose January 21- it held special meaning for them. The proposal was so cute- Gary had their English Bulldog run by Melissa with a distinctive blue box in his mouth- Melissa opened the Tiffany box to find a gorgeous engagement ring! She said that she wasn’t surprised that their dog was a part of the proposal since he is a big part of their family!
Melissa and Gary met in 2004 when they were introduced by their friends, Nancy and Robert (they were also in the wedding party). Puerto Vallarta was an easy choice for them once they decided on a destination wedding- they had been to Vallarta quite a few times together, and it was the one place that they could envision asking all of their friends and family to gather.
Melissa wore a beautiful Monique Lhuillier dress (a gift from her dad!) and Jimmy Choo shoes. Gary and the groomsmen wore Hugo Boss suits. Melissa also brought a few details down for the wedding- the place cards were from Etsy (Left Beach Fotos), and the giftbag was also purchased on Etsy (from Mis Nopales). Melissa and Gary are from Chicago, and Melissa brought down one of her favorite Chicago treats for the giftbags– Popcorn Balls from Garrett’s, which are a Chicago tradition.

I’m so pleased to announce that Orly and John’s wedding, which I photographed last March, has been featured in eleGALA. Orly and John had fun yellow details, and I simply adored Orly’s bright yellow shoes! I loved the story of their engagement- John proposed to Orly by asking her to marry him via a billboard in San Francisco! She saw it while they were walking to dinner one night, and they immediately started planning their Puerto Vallarta wedding! Click to see my original blog post with their Puerto Vallarta wedding photography, or click to head over to eleGALA. Here is a screenshot from a bit of the feature:

Thanks for reading! I hope you all have a great Monday!

April and Glenn are from Georgia and over the holidays they traveled down to Puerto Vallarta to get married at the beautiful Playa Fiesta Hotel. Glenn was roommates with April’s brother (they were in the same fraternity) when April decided to visit her brother. According to Glenn, although they didn’t start dating immediately they both felt a connection on that first day.
I loved so many of the wonderful details, but I was over the moon that April and Glenn decided to integrate succulents into their wedding. I love the green of the succulents, and they accented the bridal bouquet, the groom’s boutonniere, the cake topper, the centerpieces, and even the favors! In addition to the fact that succulents make April think of Mexico in general, she was inspired to include succulents in her wedding design when she saw them featured on a style blog.
April’s dress is a David Fielden design (Kelly’s Closet in Decatur, Georgia). Her brooch bouquet was handmade by her maid of honor (Mary Beth)! All of the stationery and many other gifts were from Stephens Exclusives. I also loved the color of April’s cute Badgley Mischka shoes!

April and Glenn’s video was filmed by Eduardo Reyes and their flowers/succulents were created by FlorArt Vallarta.
