I am so excited to be writing this entry! A few weeks ago, I photographed the beautiful wedding of Aron and Gita at one of my favorite venues: The Retreat at French’s Point. It was featured today (Veteran’s Day!) on Style Me Pretty, the same day that Aron and Gita’s film aired on PBS. Please read more about Aron and Gita and their fabulous wedding on Style Me Pretty- they have devoted six posts to the wedding (which is titled Veteran’s Day Wedding- you may need to scroll down). Also take a look at their film, The Way We Get By, which follows three senior citizens who are troop greeters up at Bangor International Airport- it is a beautiful story. Dan Zak of the Washington Post says “’The Way We Get By’ is not so much a slice of life as the whole pie, the highs and lows of twilight living, all found and filmed in a terminal at an airport in Maine. What a country.” It is a film that everyone should see, especially at this time of year.
This was a collaborative effort- I worked with four of my friends and fabulous Maine artists (David Murray, Stacey Kane, and Audra Welton and videographer Josh Swan) on this unique wedding. Judy of Flora Fauna did the gorgeous design, and Amber Small of Sweetest Thing Weddings coordinated and co-designed the event. However, there were many more vendors that donated their services to this wonderful couple- please read about them on the Real Weddings Maine website.
You can see some pics of the complete event (Abby’s favorites!) by heading over to Style Me Pretty (and you can read their amazing story!!), but here are just a few of MY favorite pics from this special day:
