A little over a week ago I had the absolute pleasure of participating in and photographing a commercial wedding event at one of my favorite venues: The Retreat at French’s Point.  If you are planning a New England wedding and you haven’t chosen your venue yet, I highly recommend them- Jessika and her team are absolutely top notch!

At the event, I had the opportunity to work with some of my other favorite vendors, including Judy from Flora Fauna Weddings (one of my favorite designers and florists, and the genius behind the designs below), Jessica from Nothing Bakes Like a Parrot (amazing baked good yumminess that not only tastes fab but looks stylish, too!), Papier Gourmet (fabulous invitations and more!), Sea Bags (ahhhh- my favorite bags ever, and oh-so-useful and pretty for thank you gifts and bridal party presents!),  The Good Kettle (amazing jams and food favors), and more!

Here are a few of my favorite photographs from the event:

There were several different themes that Judy, Jessika, and Jessica collaborated on- Flora Fauna set the stage with the flowers, design, and place settings, the Retreat at French’s Point coordinated with the fabulous food (and venue, of course!), and Nothing Bakes Like a Parrot made amazing desserts to fit the designs!  I think this second set may be my favorite (and check out the cute new designs from Sea Bags!!):

And of course, no Maine event would be complete without a colorful nautical theme- I love blue and yellow together, and check out how fabulous the beautiful baked goods (that doesn’t sound right- maybe I should call them “baked works of art”?) look!  Oh, and the fabulous fireworks show is courtesy of Central Maine Pyrotechnics- they put on an amazing show!

Taren and Chris were married on a beautiful Thursday afternoon at the gorgeous Retreat at French’s Point.  The beautiful flowers were designed by Jean at Verona Island Flowers, and the delicious cake was made by the talented folks at Sticky Fingers.  All of the other beautiful details were supplied by Jessika, the owner of the Retreat, and Taren herself (who did a wonderful job designing many of the details)!

I love the story of Taren and Chris- they actually went to elementary school (and middle and high school) together, but didn’t connect until a few years ago.  Taren knew that Chris was the one for her when he brought her a gift- a brick.  Not just any brick- it was a brick from their elementary school which was being torn down to make way for a new building.  He wanted her to forever have a piece of the place where they first met.  :)

Even though they were married mid-week, Taren and Chris had a great turnout of friends and family for their intimate destination wedding in Maine.  Taren’s two boys walked her down the aisle, beaming all of the way.  They celebrated with an incredible lobster bake, and ended the party that evening at the Farm.  It was an absolutely gorgeous day, and Taren and Chris gave me two opportunities to steal them away to take photographs on the beach and around the property.  Here are a few of my favorites from the day:

Carolina and Mark held their Maine wedding a week and a half ago at the beautiful Retreat at French’s Point.   Carolina is originally from Brazil, but she met Mark through mutual friends in Connecticut after she and her family moved to the States.  The wedding was gorgeous- Judy at Flora Fauna did a stunning job on the design- Carolina had explained the design to me over the phone, but I was absolutely blown away with the execution- it was stunning.  The wedding itself was a wonderful blend of cultures- the ceremony readings were in both Portuguese and English, and the music was a blend of the same with some old school Ricky Martin (in Spanish, of course!  not the watered down English versions) thrown in to boot.  Carolina and Mark choreographed a special dance for their first dance, and they really delivered- it was fabulous!

I loved the little details in Carolina and Mark’s wedding- from Carolina’s red shoes to the flowers in her hair and the special maid of honor dress (which was gorgeous!).  The details were truly stunning, and so was the weather!  Of course, Carolina and Mark made my job incredibly easy- they weren’t afraid to hug and cuddle throughout the day!  We went out after dinner to take some photographs in the waning, pink light that was coming across the water, producing some of my favorite photographs from the day!  Here are a few of my favorites:
