Okay, okay…. I never really use the words “Trash the Dress”.  I much prefer my name for the shoot- I call it a “True Romance Session”, because for me, the idea behind the shoot is to photograph without worrying about the dress, but not necessarily to “trash it”.   However, I had a bride call me the other day and ask what the difference between my “True Romance Shoot” and a trendy “Trash the Dress Session” was.  In truth?  Not much.  It simply gives me the creative freedom to go to interesting locations with the bride and groom without worrying about the gown.

I photographed Lelia and Ryan a few weeks ago up in Maine.  When Shootstyle decided to plan a Boston session, I asked Lelia and Ryan if they wanted to come up from New York and do a True Romance session on Sunday in Boston.  Shootstyle is an artistic photography group of which I am a member- we get together to hange out, swap stories, and have fun with our craft!  Photographers, if you are interested in Shootstyle activities, be sure to check out the Shootstyle blog or facebook page.

Lelia and Ryan met me at 3pm at Starbucks and we headed to a ton of locations around the city.   Even though we shot for hours, I wish that we had more time together!  There were so many locations that I wanted to visit that I just didn’t have time to get to!  Lelia and Ryan were their normal, fabulous selves- extremely easy to work with and up for just about anything!  We went bowling in Arlington, rode the T around Boston, visited the Boston Common, spent time at an abandoned building, and of course (since they ARE New Yorkers, after all) went to Fenway!  Here are a few of my faves from the day!
